My Therapeutic Services
I specialize in a variety of therapeutic and holistic massage treatment services. I regard each patient as a whole, rather than an illness to be defeated. I believe in nurturing, rather than battling against the body. Each session is customized to the client's needs and requests. I will take the time to discuss your needs and therapeutic goals. Communication is the key to maximizing your experience, so adjustments can be made to suit your comfort level throughout your session.
The amount of time you schedule is always equal to the amount of time we spend during your hands-on therapy.
As a neuromuscular therapist, it is my intention to get to the root of the muscular issue. Let's tailor a massage therapy plan that is meant to alleviate and eliminate the acute and chronic conditions we all experience in everyday life. I am knowledgable in postural assessments and have worked with a variety of chronic conditions. Some of the most common conditions I treat are headache and migraine, neck, shoulder, and back pain. I can utilize a variety of techniques to treat sciatica and muscular issues that mimic sciatic pain. Frozen shoulder syndrome and build-up of scar tissue is a common ailment I regularly treat. I have found massage very beneficial in addressing fibromyalgia, Sjögren's syndrome, and different types of arthritis. If you are seeking relief from TMJ, Sports injuries, or range of motion problems, plantar fasciitis, or circulatory disorders, then soft tissue manipulation is the key to recovery. I have treated a wide range of anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. Massage can help the body to relax on many levels and facilitate restful, peaceful sleep. Simple tasks such as typing on a keyboard, using our phones, and driving daily, can actually cause some of our most common and chronic pain conditions. Schedule your session with me and get back to better wellness.
If you're looking to relax with a Swedish massage or have an area targeted for specific needs, this is the atmosphere you're looking for. Other relaxing techniques include circular pressure, kneading, bending, and stretching, and general stress-relieving touch. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage technique designed to reduce swelling by encouraging the natural flow of lymph fluid, which carries waste away from tissues. These two massage techniques have been proven to decrease levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, as well as increase lymphocytes that help boost the immune system. These techniques, combined, greatly reduce tension and promote overall well-being. Swedish Massage is the best-known type of bodywork performed today.

Trigger Point Therapy is a bodywork technique that involves pressure to usually three or four major muscle groups. Pressure is used to manipulate tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. This technique may also be called "myofascial" trigger point therapy, as it addresses the connective myofascial tissue that is also affected during muscle tension and pain. This technique has proven effective for all types of chronic muscle conditions.

This therapy is a healing technique based on the principle of free and uninterrupted energy flow and helps activate the natural healing processes in each patient's body as well as to restore their physical and emotional well-being. As a certified Massage Therapist, I help patients reduce their stress and anxiety, among other ailments.

Massage with Cupping
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. Cups can be used in a stationary or gliding fashion in order to break up scar tissue, muscle adhesions, and tension. Cupping is used for many purposes, including alleviating actue and chronic pain, inflammation, increasing blood flow, promoting relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. Cupping does leave varying degrees of superficial bruising on the skin. The bruises are typically not painful, but, do take three to seven days to go away. During the time the bruises are healing, the muscles are also healing and becoming stronger, due to the increased blood flow.
Remember Michael Phelps? The Olympic gold medalist swimmer? Those big purple round circles were from cupping... seems to have helped him quite a bit!
